  Our Philosophy

Unlike the trend of today, Christy's emphasis is not on competitions, but rather on using talents and abilities for other purposes that might serve young dancers & gymnasts  better later in life. Christy Mills' belief is that students get more out of dance lessons by sharing their skills with nursing home residents and charity events. Little tumblers learn much more than handstands and forward rolls. Christy and her staff build confidence and coordination, as well as instilling rhythm, musicality, a love of moving and respect for one another.

Every holiday season for over 25 years, Christy has given all her students the option of traveling to more than a dozen nursing homes to present their annual "Christmas Show Nursing Home Tour".  Students are encouraged to also speak to residents as the show concludes. Students develop conversational skills in addition feeling good about themselves for giving of their time and talents.

Our non-competitive atmosphere gives every student a chance to develop a confident and winning attitude,  which will carry them farther in life than trophies, often "won" simply by showing up.

That is not to say that they don't have fun and occasionally travel!  Christy and her hoofers have performed on Carnival Cruise Lines, The Big Red Boat, Disney World, Cypress Gardens in Florida, the World Expo in New Orleans, Carowinds, Opryland and a whole lot more. Although competitions are not their goal, they do one every now and again just for the experience.

Whether it's a festival, convention or reunion, Christy and her staff encourage students to always carry with them a Christian attitude in dancing , as well as  throughout their lives.
